ok people the x-clamp fix doesn't work the penny trick is a band-aid fix and the only real way to fix and xbox is to get the gpu pulled and reballed with good quality solder sorry to say it but its true. the x-clamps don't bend the board like everyone else has lead you to belive the tension on them is exactly what you would find in a pc heat sink i would know i build custom computers for people. if you do the x-clamp fix you leave the bottom of the board where the most heat is created unsecured and that will bend your board and ruin your xbox to the point of either haveing to get your gpu pulled and reballed or getting a new one peroid cause the board is warped. look it up solder crystalization is your real enemy not x-clamps! and no i don't work for microsoft i'm a mechanic by profesion and a computer builder for fun and to make extra cash

I have done a successful penny fix. I used just 2 pennies. It took me about an hour and a half. Used hot glue on the pennies

I've done this, and tho it works, I've notice that it presses down on the motherboard a little too much, which can cause damage in the future.

towel trick doesnt work, penny trick doesnt work for very long, the only legit way of fixing an xbox 360 is the x-clamp fix. the name doesnt even describe it the more important part is replacing the thermal compound and replacing the bolts . but to replace the bolts you haved to take off the x-clamps, they have little to nothing to do with the fix
