Buy the upgraded Console
This was purchased for me as a gift and had to be returned almost immediately because it doesn't posses the hard drive needed to play most games. I would recommend to anyone interested in purchasing a X-box 360 that you go for the Pro Console with the 60GB hard drive already attached. It will save you a lot of time and trouble.

For Serious Gamers
We have a Wii, DS, PSP, PS2, and an Xbox. My husband LOVES the 2K basketball games on the PS2 and Xbox, but our PS2 broke and the new 2k game didn't come out on the Xbox. so I bought NBA Live on the Wii for him. (2K doesn't make the basketball game for the Wii). He hated it. He didn't like the controls and he said the whole game sucked. The Xbox stopped making games I guess so I had to buy him a new console to play basketball on before I hurt him. The PS3 is ridiculously expensive. I do not own any blu ray disks and I do not plan to as they cost way more than DVDs and Red Box only charges $1 per night to rent new release DVDs. Thus, at this point in life, the benefits of the PS3 do not outweigh the cost. That left us with the Xbox 360. I bought the arcade console as he will only be playing a few games on it so memory wasn't that important. Also, he said that he wouldn't be using Xbox live so the arcade version serves its purpose for us. We don't even know how to setup Xbox live; so, no comment on that. (I hooked the wireless up on the Wii with no problem). Hubby is the only one who plays the 360 cause it's in our room. I warned him about the RROD so I'm sure it's because he doesn't want the kids to break it. Aside from that most of the Xbox games are for adults, and our kids are 8 and under and love their Wii.

Bottom Line: My husband loves it and gets a lot of use out of it, but it is not good if you have young kids who'll be playing primarily...then you should get a Wii.

Cheap, Reliable, fun and versatile
I bought my first 360 a few months after launch. That first console was loud, hot, and eventually I got the 3rrod. Being fairly adept at electronics and whatnot I was able to fix the rrod, but I just sold it because it was too much hassle.

Then around 8 months ago I decided to get an arcade because I didn't have any other gaming system. I have to say these new ones are way better than the old ones. My arcade is much quieter and cooler, and I'm definitely not worried about the 3rrod issue anymore. What's more, these are extremely CHEAP. I bought mine new on ebay for $200 but using the live cashback deal I basically got my 360 for $140. That's simply amazing.

The 360 has lots of great games and most of them run fairly well. The only game that has really put the 360's graphics to the test is GOW2 where on a certain level the FPS dropped to around 15-20 (just my visual estimate).

I have my 360 hooked up via HDMI to my 50" samsung plasma and it really is amazing. Of course the graphics COULD always be better but I really have nothing to complain about in this regard.

The controllers for the 360 are great. Used to have some syncing problems but haven't had issues in a long time. My advice is to just buy some used controllers/charge packs. Also... I wish you could just hook these controllers into your computer and use for PC gaming, but that's asking a lot.

I have mixed feelings about wireless on the 360. The wireless adapter is expensive (~$100) and the price hasn't changed hardly at all. I bought my adapter brand new at $99 and then sold it on ebay nearly a year later $75. The adapter is OK but I have all this in my room and the router is down stairs. What I am doing now is running a cable from my PC's ethernet to the 360 and then sharing the PC's wireless with the 360. This seems to work pretty well so if anyone is considering buying the wireless adapter, first ask yourself if you have the 360 anywhere near a computer. If you do, it would be wise to spend your $100 on a really nice wireless card and knock two birds out with one stone.

Only complaints are:
-Xbox live: I wish it was free. But ~$40 a year isn't so bad.
-Games: Pretty expensive brand new. But not so bad if you wait a month or two for the market to saturate a bit. But modding your 360's DVD drive is pretty easy... and that's all I'm going to say about that *wink*
-Hard drive: This is the only thing that I really hate about the 360/microsoft... A 120 GB hard drive should NOT cost $150. Granted it is probably a 2.5" drive and comes with a nice attachable casing, $150 should at least get you 320gb.

Bottom line: Buy this system. I have lots of friends with Wiis and Ps3s. Wiis are good for friends, especially friends that don't play video games, but 360s are great too, especially for shooters and online play. Ps3s cost a lot more and the blue ray drive does not have a good reputation. They have a few exclusive games but the 360 has more and the new 360s are the most stable systems imo. By now all the kinks are worked out and there is NO reason NOT to buy one!

Ps if you're looking for a good deal, dell.com has coupon codes once in a while where you can get an arcade brand new for a little over $160. Dont buy refurbished systems on ebay, its a waste/not worth it
Xbox 360 Review
As global overview product is OK, the only concer is that when this product arrive, was incomplete a memory card was missing, that is not cool. Microsoft needs to play attention when they manufactur there products, that is a quality issue for them.
regards

Worth more than the money
The XBOX 360 Arcade is a great system for video games. Shipping was quick and i received the console within a couple of days of ordering. I live in baltimore and it shipped from virginia.

There are no complaints with the console as far as manufacturing quality is concerned. I was relieved to find that my set was a Jasper, the motherboard does not heat up at all. Thankfully for me, because i fell asleep playing a video game and woke up the next morning with the console still working.

Console was made in china on December 2008, I had ordered in May 2009, These seemed to be transitional models, because i received an older powersupply although the chipset was new.

Gaming quality is very very good. One thing to note with the Arcade is a lack of HDMI cable, which you need to BUY from the store.. although not at great cost i must mention. The HDMI cable allows you to see the games in HD resolution on compatible HDTVs.

The arcade comes with the same processing power as the Xbox Elite , and that is what makes it such a value for money proposition.

The largest drawback is the lack of a hard -drive, which you can easily buy over the internet at a cheap rate. This hard drive is required ONLY to play XBOX older version games AND to save new downloadable material.

Honestly, i find the in DVD content of games enough to keep me busy.

Final Analysis : Definitely worth $199.
