About ripping xbox games to the hard drive?

Published on Thursday, May 14, 2009 by admin

Wheelmn4 here, haven't really been on xbox live since christmas. So whats up with burning games to the 360 hard drive? ive got the new elite. basically is it possible, and how is it done? that would be really helpful.

If it makes it easier, would it be possible to rip Battlefield: Bad Company to my XBOX, and how would i do it?

It's not what you think it is. It's not burning your game to the hard drive. It's the equivalent of installing a PC game. Instead of the 360 reading the disk as it goes alone, it installs the game to the hard drive to speed up the loading time. You still need the disk to play the game.

    • This one is complicated. First you'd have to dismantle your xbox and VOID YOUR WARRANTY to start. Find out whhat drive you have. Then you would have to search "how to flash a (whatever drive you have) drive". Its very complicated as you will have to open up the motherboard and take a sata cable and connect it to a pc with a cruzer flash drive. Then you would have to wait at least a day to download the game to your PC using a torrent server like bittorrent, and file searching on isohunt. Lastly, you'd have to rip the game on a REALLY LARGE BLANK CD like an 8g memorex. so if you want to do allthis, go ahead, but it's really complicated so either: hire a pro or: fuggheddaboudit!

    • Since the NXE update you've been able to rip the game to the hardrive. you will still need to have the disc in the drive though (to show that you've not just rented a game, copied it over then returned it)
pop in the game, go to "My Xbox" – "My Games" – Battlefield: Bad Company – hit Y/A(can't remember of the top of my head) – install to hard drive – wait a bit – and your done.
