Galaga Legions is part of the Namco Museum Collection on XBox, and it’s freaking wicked. It’s probably every bit as good as this remake of Space Invaders. I bought my copy of the game used for $25 in GameStop and it’s worth every cent.

Taito was an awesome company but I don’t know if anything really new comes out under the Taito brand name or if they now exist as nothing more than as a resource pool of IPs for Squenix to exploit now that they own them. I suggest that the least we can do in their honour is start refering to Squenix as Squento ..except they now have Eidos too so they should really be called Squeinito.

I can kind of give you an idea.
I can remember my reactions over the years as Space Invaders begat Galaxian, begat Galaga, begat Gaplus, begat Galaga ‘88 and all the other franchises and single releases, each of which was more graphically stunning and cool to play than the one before.
One of the coolest looking games EVER made in the shooter genre was Satan’s Hollow. It was in a glowing cabinet like Tron, only red instead of blue. =)
